I didn't choose Totodile, however; the game had previously belonged to my cousin, so Chikorita was the first Johto starter I chose myself. I love all 3 Johto starters a lot so over the years I used every Johto starter at least once but the one I chose first and the one that is still my favorite out of the three is Totodile. But I came to like Bayleef a lot, so Chikorita is the one I tend to pick the most. It definitely makes the game harder though.
