Jump around a lot to dodge incoming attacks from other tentacles. When you stay behind Terramorphous he won't be able to attack you. Always walk in big circles around him and keep some distance. There is another, simpler method of taking out Terramorphous that requires less movement. There is a certain spot to stand that will make you invincible to many of his attacks, but Terramorphous can still hit you in certain occassions.

You'll go to lower elevation to reach them or start there after an unsuccessful bout with Terramorphous so another worthy note is a lift just around the corner from the vending machines. When entering the map, Terramorphous can be found by walking straight ahead and past a bridge where you'll see vending machines and the New-U station in an area below, then dropping onto a hole at the end which has a platform that will open automatically. Re-spawning at the New-U station means players have to either walk all the way around to the Thousand Cuts entrance, or drop down onto a lift that will shoot players up, providing a shortcut back to Terramorphous, however, the elevator's reset time is very slow.
