Should i get a 250cc or 600cc
A smaller engine means less gas is needed to get you where you are going. Add to that the fact that they are usually at least a hundred pounds lighter than a and its going to increase that MPG even further. If you insure your motorcycle which is the law in California and most states then you will also notice a pleasant surprise if you own a versus a Small motorcycles are more inexpensive in every department, plus when you are done with them you can get almost all of your money back when you sell especially if you buy them used first.
One of the great things about these motorcycles is they really hold their resale value. Tons of new people are getting into motorcycles ever year, and that means a lot of beginner riders that want to buy their first bike. Check your local craigslist. Bookmark a few of the ads and check them again in a week and you will notice that a lot of them are still there.
This is how it is in the California Bay Area, so I would imagine it would be the same in most other parts of the country with a thriving motorcycle community.
Yes, the 08 Ninja is a great reason to start on a motorcycle. Simply put this bike looks better than some of the cc, or cc bikes I have seen! This is probably one of the only times in the last 10 years where people are buying a cc bike for the looks, and not for the practicality. This is great because it will make the transition to a cc or cc bike that much easier if you choose to do so.
Honestly for the price, and for the looks, this is one bike that makes being a beginner motorcycle rider really cool. However, these are not considered to be significant. Any other modification intended to increase engine power or significantly reduce motorcycle weight.
If there is a motorcycle you believe should be on the LAMS-approved list and it fits the primary criteria of being between cc and cc, and less than kilowatts per tonne, you will need to submit a formal application to the Transport Agency for consideration. Vehicle specifications for the motorcycle should be gathered from your motorcycle manufacturer.
If there is a motorcycle with an engine capacity of less than cc that you believe should be on the LAMS-prohibited list, you will need to submit a formal application to the Transport Agency for consideration. Requests received prior to the 20th of each month will be considered for addition to the LAMS lists, and if approved, will be published on the first working day of the following month.

As far as comments about a being "too small", well, if you're over 6'6" or pounds, then that might be true.
Otherwise, it's pure bullshit. A Ninja will run at mph all day long on the freeway; these folks who think that everyone needs a hp cc bike are just plain fools. Oct 10, 25, 1 0. Imp said:. Ya, definately this. A cc is for pussies.
That thing can only go up to 70 Mph in first gear, and in under 3 seconds. What a joke, no way you'll ever accidentally give it too much throttle with no experience. Last edited: Nov 20, Aug 10, 7, 0 0. Seriously; plus you don't want old tech like single action calipers and non-radial master cylinders.
You will be the laughing stock of the kids that bought the full kit:. With all due respect the difference between a cc super sport and a non super sport is whole worlds. Last edited: Aug 5, May 13, 12, I seriously don't see why a man with a little common sense can't start on a cc bike? You really need to take a motorcycle safety course unless you got a friend that can show you the ropes. Buy a cheap used cause you're gonna drop it. These guys act like a cc is a motogp bike that will come out of a corner doing mph and wheelie when you pin the throttle.

Err you can loop a in the first gear without problem But i would say the brakes are the bigger issue than throttle response.
